srimanthudu tamil version disaster

At a time when 'Srimanthudu' is celebrating its entry into Top 5 Telugu films that have collected 'maximum' share collections from their original and dubbed versions, here is a news exactly opposite to this celebration. Seems like Kollywood circles are quite disappointed with the way Selvandan, tamil version of the film, is doing at theatres.
Trade circles from Sambar land have indicated that Selvandan has grossed nearly 1.1 crores in its first week of run at box office. Producers will be receiving 45 lakh 'share' from these collections. Actually the film was bought for 3 crores for entire Tamilnadu and Kerala to release the movie's Tamil version, and there is no way total investment looks recoverable. It may not collect another 45 lakhs share in its full run, thereby will end the film as disaster in Tamil.

On the other hand, Srimanthudu opened doors to new films in Tollywood that could focus solely on content rather worrying about hero's stardom. If they accept Mahesh, they would accept other star heroes too. So, directors are right now carving out new scripts
