Soon after the release of NTR's Baadshah, one of the leading directors in Tollywood Sreenu Vaitla and his longtime friends and writers duo Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan fell apart after a murky war of words over credits issue. Both the parties even vowed not to work with each other again. Sreenu Vaitla teamed up with new writers and tasted a disaster with Aagadu.
Then, Mega Power Star Ram Charan sorted out the issues between Sreenu Vaitla and Kona-Gopi and even convinced them to work together for Bruce Lee. Fans were expecting nothing short of a blockbuster with the most successful team in Tollywood joining hands once again. But, Bruce Lee released and bit the dust miserably.
The primary complaint of the critics and the fans about Bruce Lee was the outdated and completely unexciting story. Nobody could believe that the star combo came up with such a mediocre film after its reunion. However, insiders reveal several hidden incidents that took place behind the scene. Apparently, Sreenu Vaitla is lamenting that Kona and Gopi muddled up his story to the point that he had no control over the script.
Sreenu Vaitla also wanted to name the film as Merupu as against Bruce Lee, which had more of an action film feel to it. The title also played a huge role in distancing the family audiences, who usually patronize Sreenu Vaitla movies. Also, the director had less freedom in calling the shots in the script, thanks to Ram Charan's total trust on Gopi-Kona.
And on the other side, the writers duo is alleging that Sreenu Vaitla did not consider their suggestions regarding several crucial plot points in the story, which resulted in a lackluster script. On the whole, looks like the director and the writers duo will take a long time to sort their differences and egos before they work on another film in the future.
